A body has been found in the search for a man who got into difficulty in the Bristol harbour.

Avon and Somerset Police were first called to the water on Sunday night (13/04) to reports four people were struggling.

Two men and a woman were rescued with the men taken to hospital, but the fourth person was not found.

Searches have been taking place ever since.

“Police divers have sadly recovered a body from Bristol Harbour this afternoon," a statement reads.

“Formal identification is not expected to take place from some days but officers have informed the missing man’s family.

“Officers continue to offer them support and our thoughts are with them at this terribly sad time.

“The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be complied for the coroner in due course.”
