Just months since the building was deemed safe to return, residents of Bristol tower block Barton House were evacuated earlier today (13 June) because of a fire alarm.

We're told by the fire service that it was caused by a fault - which was discovered when crews arrived on the scene.

This all comes in the light of residents recently telling us they didn't feel safe to go back, after being forced to stop in hotels over safety fears.

In a statement, Avon Fire and Rescue told us: "Crews from Temple, Kingswood, Hicks Gate and Bedminster were called at 17:01 to reports of an alarm sounding at a multi-storey residential property on Aiken Street in St Philips, Bristol.

"On arrival, firefighters found that the alarm was caused by a fault and an alarm engineer will attend the scene.

"Evacuated residents are now returning to their homes."
