Avon Fire and Rescue say this morning's house fire in Banwell is thought to be accidental.
Crews from across the region were called to reports of a car on fire on Chestnut Close - which had then spread to the property.
It has now been extinguished
In a statement, a spokesperson said: "On Monday 12th February at 08:01, crews from Winscombe, Weston, Avonmouth, Clevedon and Kingswood were called to reports of car fire on Chestnut Close, Banwell.
"Upon arrival, crews located the car fire which had spread to a property. Crews used twelve breathing apparatus, three high pressure hose reels, and one 45mm jet to extinguish the fire.
"The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental."
One person was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 08:03hrs on Monday 12 February to an incident near Banwell. We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer, a responding officer and a hazardous area response team and we conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Weston General Hospital.”
