Avon and Somerset Police say they're monitoring the situation as protestors gather in Bristol for the third time this week.

The force says people originally gathered in Castle Park before beginning to march through the city centre.

Specialist resources, including horses and dogs, have already been deployed. Under current COVID-19 regulations, mass meetings like a protest are illegal.

Today's demonstration follows protests on both Sunday and Tuesday night, the former of which descended into violence which saw 40 officers assaulted as well as police vehicles set on fire and the police station attacked.

Police say they will take action this evening if necessary.
