South Wales Police have confirmed 'several' people have been arrested in connection with disorder following a football match over the weekend.

Officers carried out an operation at the Cardiff City v Bristol City game on October 28, and have thanked the public for their patience during their work around the match.

It's not been confirmed how many people have been arrested - however, the force say the 'overwhelming majority' of fans were 'well behaved and passionate about their clubs' at the game on Saturday.

They say these supporters 'will no doubt be shocked by the behaviour of some supporters'.

Whenever there is evidence of football-related disorder or violence, South Wales Police say they always pursue those responsible in order that appropriate action is taken.

A post-match investigation will now take place to identify and arrest further individuals.

Anyone with information or concerns about this matter, is asked to contact South Wales Police quoting refence number 2300231857 via their Live Chat or 101.
