Another murder investigation launched in Bristol
A man has been found dead in Hartcliffe five days after two men were found dead in Easton
Police in Bristol have launched their second murder investigation in five days after a man was found dead in Hartcliffe.
The man in his 30s was found critically injured on Bishport Avenue yesterday evening (September 16); a 54 year old woman has been arrested.
Formal identification has not been carried out yet but the man's next of kin has been told.
A forensic post mortem will be carried out shortly.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Russell Saunders said: “The man’s family have been informed and will be supported by specially trained officers.
"Our thoughts and sympathies go out to them at this difficult time.
“A scene remains in place and we’d ask people to keep away to allow us to carry out detailed enquiries."
DI Saunders added they are treating the man's death as suspicious and the local community can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.
“But we believe this to be an isolated incident and do not consider there to be any wider risk to the public," he said.
It comes just days after two men were found dead in Easton on Sunday (September 12).
Denzil McKenzie who was 56 and 27-year-old Fahad Hossain Pramanik were both found dead at a house on Wood Street after police received information from a member of the public.
Four people, three men and a woman were initially arrested but two were later released without charge.
Ionut-Valentin Boboc, 21, and Jacob Bebe Chers, 45, both of Fishponds, were remanded in custody at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 15 September pending their next court appearance.
There is no suggestion that the two cases are linked.
