Man hospitalised after hammer attack in Dewsbury

It happened last Wednesday at a BP Garage on Savile Road.

A man has been treated in hospital for head injuries after a hammer attack in Dewsbury.

West Yorkshire Police released the following statement:

"Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault at the BP Garage on Savile Road in Dewsbury.

Officers were called at 8.45pm on Wednesday, 16 September to reports of a large group of males congregating on the forecourt.

One man was taken to hospital, where he received treatment for a head injury after being hit with a hammer.

Officers would like to appeal to anyone who was in the garage at the time, or anyone who witnessed the assault take place.

Anyone with information which may assist this investigation is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference 13200466414.
