Just a tenth of eligible employees furloughed in Kirklees over summer
The new government figures show between 8% and 10% of eligible employments in the borough were furloughed.
Around a tenth of eligible jobs in Kirklees were furloughed in the period up to the end of August, Government figures have revealed.

Across Yorkshire and the Humber the number was 220,000, of which 112,800 were men and 107,200 were women.
London had the highest take-up rate of 13% against the UK average of 11%.
The highest take-up rate was to be found in Crawley, Haringey and Newham (16%). Boston was the lowest (5%).

Up to June 30 it provided employers with financial support of up to 80% of their employees’ salaries. Support is capped at £2,500 per month per employee.
