Major response to fire at derelict Leeds school

People living close to a derelict school where a fire broke out on Saturday evening (6th March) were told to stay indoors with their doors and windows shut.

Emergency services have been dealing with the blaze at the old Elmete Wood School on Elmete Lane near to Roundhay Park in Leeds.

Crews from Killingbeck, Moortown, Leeds, Cookridge, Garforth, Hunslet, Mirfield, Featherstone & Skelmanthorpe fire stations were involved at the height of the fire.

The operation's being scaled back on Sunday morning and an investigation into the cause of the fire will be launched.
