85-year-old woman suffers serious injuries in Huddersfield car crash

Her car collided with a skip wagon yesterday afternoon.

An elderly lady has suffered serious injuries after her car collided with a skip wagon in Huddersfield yesterday afternoon.

West Yorkshire Police released the following statement:

"Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision in Huddersfield.

"It happened at about 3.50pm yesterday (Tuesday) in Woodhead Road, Berry Brow at the junction with Carriage Drive, where a silver Chevrolet Matiz and a blue Iveco skip wagon were in collision.

"The driver of the Matiz, an 85-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries which were not believed to be life threatening and was taken to hospital.

"The driver of the wagon, a 51-year-old man, suffered a minor injury which did not require treatment.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash cam footage which will assist the investigation is asked to contact PC 862 Hawkins at Western Area Roads Policing on 101, quoting log 1056 of 3 November. "
