15 fire engines are currently dealing with a large blaze involving scrap tyres in Bradford this morning

They were called to Upper Castle Street at around 3am.

Emergency services are advising all residents in East Bowling to keep their windows and doors shut.

Road closures are currently in place on Upper Castle Street, Ripley Street, Junction of Manchester Road & Mill Lane, Spring Mill Street Junction with Palmer Street and Bolling Road

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have released the following statement:

"Our crews are in attendance at a large fire in the Bradford area.

10 Fire Engines are currently on scene.

We're advising all residents in the immediate vicinity to the East of the incident – East Bowling – to keep windows & doors shut."

Northern Trains have announced the fire is affecting services coming in and out of Bradford:

The blaze has forced Bradford Council to shut Bronte Girls Academy today:

The local authority has also closed: Lister Primary, Lady of Victories Catholic School, Rainbow Primary, Bradford District PRU and Dixons City Academy.
