Investigation launched following smash and grab raid at Wooler milk bar

Around £500 has been stolen following a break-in at a milk bar in Wooler.

Two men are believed to have smashed the window of the South Road business overnight on Friday. 

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Doddington Dairy Milk Bar was closed on Saturday following the raid, but has since reopened.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "At about 7.45am on Saturday (December 9th), we received a report of a burglary at a business premises on South Road in Wooler which is believed to have taken place overnight. 

“It was reported that two men broke into the premises by smashing a window. They then stole approximately £500 in cash before leaving the scene.

"Enquiries into the report are ongoing."
