Pensioner suffers serious injuries following collision with car in Berwick
A woman in her 80s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision with a car in Berwick.
The incident unfolded in the town's Northumberland Road - near Tweedbank Retail Park - shortly before 11am on Saturday (May 17th).
It was understood the driver of a red Suzuki Celerio had been travelling northbound when, for reasons to be established, they have struck the pensioner - who was on foot - on the road.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene, but the woman remains in hospital, where her condition is described as "stable".

The driver involved remained at the scene and is continuing to assist officers with the investigation.
Part of the road was closed around four-and-a-half hours to allow officers to carry out enquiries.

Northumbria’s Roads Policing Unit have launched an investigation to determine the full circumstances – and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are especially keen to hear from anyone with further CCTV or dashcam footage.
