A 69-year-old man has died after being found "unresponsive" in a Borders street.

Emergency services swooped on Walkerburn after the alarm was raised around 2.30pm this afternoon (Thursday).

Police say they're treating the pensioner's death as "unexplained", but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A number of ambulances and police cars were quickly on the scene.

And Hall Street - just off the main road between Peebles and Galashiels - was sealed off with police tape, while paramedics attended to the pensioner near a block of flats.
