Two women arrested and air weapon seized following police 'pursuit' in Berwick
Two women have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking.
It follows an incident in the Northumberland Road area of Tweedmouth around 9pm last night (Sunday).
The 19 and 20-year-old were apprehended by officers responding to a report of a vehicle failing to stop.
An air weapon was also seized - police say investigations are ongoing.
According to the Theft Act 1968, the specific offence of aggravated vehicle-taking combines the taking of a vehicle without the owner's consent with driving it dangerously, causing injury, or causing damage to the vehicle or other property.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 9pm yesterday (Sunday) officers received a report of a vehicle that had failed to stop when instructed in the Northumberland Road area of Tweedmouth.
“Officers pursued the vehicle, and a short time later, two women – aged 20 and 19 – were arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking. They remain in police custody at this time.
“Upon searching the car, officers also located an air weapon which has been seized. A full investigation is ongoing into the incident.”
