A 36-year-old man has appeared in court following a report of a robbery at the Premier store in Tweedbank.

Staff were said to be left "shaken" following an incident, which unfolded at the shop in Tweedbank Drive shortly before 5pm last night (Thursday).

Carl Kirsopp, who gave an address in Berwickshire, faced two charges when he appeared in private, and on petition, at Jedburgh Sheriff Court today.

As well as robbery, he's also been accused of threatening or abusive behaviour.

Kirsopp made no plea and was committed for further examination.
