Detectives investigating the theft of two cars from Stow in the early hours of this (Wednesday) morning are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

It's understood the suspects snatched the keys to a white Audi and a white Volvo after breaking into a house in Mill Road.

Officers say the incident is believed to have happened some time between 3am and 4.30am, with the vehicles last seen heading north on the A7, towards Edinburgh, shortly after.

It's understood a third vehicle - a blue Ford Transit - was also taken from the same address but was later found abandoned in a nearby park.

Detective Constable Louise Begley, from Police Scotland, said: “We are appealing for any information which could help us in tracing the vehicles and identifying the people responsible.

“In particular we are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have noticed the stolen vehicles.

“We would also urge any motorists with dash-cams, who were on the A7 between Midlothian and Galashiels in the early hours of this morning, to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to our enquiries.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 0441 of Wednesday, August 30th, 2023.”
