New awards to recognise Borders unsung heroes
Nominations are open until April 28th
Last updated 5th Apr 2023
Do you know someone in the Borders who makes our region a better place to live or work?
Well, you can now nominate them for an award as part of a festival of volunteering to celebrate the King's coronation.
Entries can be submitted through the website of local MP John Lamont.
The Scottish Conservative said he wants to recognise volunteers' “dedication” and “hard work”.
Mr Lamont told us: “Volunteers are the backbone of the Scottish Borders community. Without their dedication and hard work, many local services would not be able to function.
“These unsung heroes support services that make a genuine difference to people’s lives.
“The competition is now open for any member of the public to nominate someone they think should win.
“Please get involved so we can recognise the fantastic volunteers across the Scottish Borders.”
