Borders rugby star Lisa Thomson is set to make her 50th appearance for Scotland this weekend.

The 25-year-old centre has been named in the starting line-up for Sunday's Six Nations match away to France.

She will become the third woman from Hawick to reach the milestone, following in the footsteps of Louise Dalgliesh and current teammate Lana Skeldon.

Thomson, who is a member of the GB 7s squad and was last week inducted into the Melrose Sevens Hall of Fame, made her international debut for Scotland against England at Broadwood Stadium in the opening match of the 2016 Six Nations tournament.

Skeldon and fellow Borderer Chloe Rollie are also named in the starting line-up for this weekend's game at the Stade de la Rabine in Vannes.

Scotland Women Head Coach Bryan Easson said: "It’s brilliant to see Lisa get her 50th cap this Sunday, as she’s been a stalwart for Scotland Women for a long time now."
