It might only be three laps of Hay Lodge Park.

But more than 4,000 people have covered over 76,000 kilometres between them, since Peebles parkrun started just over six years ago.

And 308 individuals have filled more than 3000 volunteering roles.

This Saturday's event (March 29th) is set to raise awareness of the benefits exercise can have on people's mental - as well as their physical - health.

Local club Moorfoot Runners is teaming up with suicide awareness initiative Headstrong for a takeover of the town's parkrun.

It's hoped it will help make more people aware of the signs that someone might be thinking about taking their own life - and help signpost them to the support available.
