Five bikes stolen during break-in to vehicle in Peebles
Last updated 9th Apr 2025
Police are appealing for information after five bikes - four mountain bikes and a gravel bike - were stolen from a vehicle in Peebles.
It was parked in the Innerleithen Road area of town when thieves struck sometime overnight on Monday.
It's the latest in a series of bike thefts in the area.
Earlier this month we reported how thieves stole two mountain bikes and two jackets during a break-in to a home in the Whitehaugh Park area of Peebles.
It was the second time the street had been targeted in four months.
The bikes taken in the latest incident are described as: Black Cannondale Gravel Topstone 3 Carbon Gravel bike - small frame; 26" wheels. Shimano gears, Fizik saddle; Blue/Black/Orange Cube Stereo SLT C62 140 Mountain Bike - small frame; 27.5" wheels; Green/Black Cube Stereo 140 mountain bike - medium frame; 27.5" wheels; Fox float shocks; Orange Canyon Spectral 6 Mountain bike - medium frame; 29" DT Swiss wheels; Maxxis Minion DHR tyres; Blue/Yellow Marin Rift Zone, child's mountain bike - 26" wheels; Vee Tyre Co. Tyres; X-Fusion shocks.
The vehicle was secured around 6pm on Monday (April 7th) and, when the owner returned, in the morning (April 8th) the vehicle was found insecure and the bikes gone.
It's not the first time the area has been targeted. In October, four bikes worth a total of almost £10,000 were stolen from the Innerleithen Road area in Peebles. They were all attached to vehicles in a car park.
