Appeal as bike thieves strike again in the Tweed Valley
Last updated 23rd Apr 2025
Four more bikes have been stolen from a vehicle parked in the Innerleithen Road area of Peebles.
The theft took place in the early hours of Friday morning - between 2.30am and 4am.
The street boasts a number of accommodation providers popular with mountain bikers exploring the Tweed Valley.
And it's not the first time it has been targeted.
In October, four bikes worth a total of almost £10,000 were taken from vehicles in a car park in the same area.
Police have released images of the latest haul and are appealing to the public for information.
Earlier this month, two mountain bikes were also stolen, along with two jackets, during a break-in in the Whitehaugh Park area of Peebles.
The suspects are believed to have left via the back garden door of the property, around 4.30am.
It was the second time the street had been targeted in less than five months, with two e-bikes taken from the same area in December.
And, in August last year, four bikes were stolen from a shipping container in Traquair.
