Police say a man's been issued with a fixed penalty notice after officers were called to reports of a crash involving a van and a car in the Borders.

It happened on the A703 just north of Peebles, near the turn-off for Cringletie, shortly before 5pm yesterday (Tuesday).

It's understood the road - which links Edinburgh with the Borders - remained "passable with care".

No-one was seriously injured.
