He'd already performed at some of the country's biggest music festivals before locals won a competition to have him play in their village hall.

Now, more than a decade on from that pop-up performance in Midlem, chart star Newton Faulkner has announced he's set to return to the Borders for the only Scottish gig of his upcoming tour.

The Dream Catch Me singer will play at the MacArts music venue in Galashiels on Saturday, May 4th, 2024.

He's also hosting guitar workshops during the Feels Like Home Tour, which also visits Liverpool, Carlisle and Lincoln.

It's the latest in a series of high-profile musicians to perform at the Borders music venue in recent times, and follows the success of Callum Beattie and Sleeper earlier this year.

Tickets for Newton Faulkner's gig go on sale on Wednesday.
