Motorcyclist in hospital following Peeblesshire crash

The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

A 62-year-old man is being treated in hospital following a motorbike crash in the Borders.

It happened on the A701 in Tweedsmuir, Peeblesshire, around 5pm yesterday (Sunday).

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised, and the man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

The road was closed for several hours while the area was made safe.

Police are appealing to anyone in the area with dashcam footage which may help their investigation to contact them.

Sergeant David Waddell, from Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit, said: “Our investigations are ongoing, and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash take place, who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us.

"We are also keen to obtain any dash-cam from motorists driving on the road around the time of the crash.

“We would like to thank the members of the public who assisted at the scene of the crash this morning.

“Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 with reference 2627 of October 1st, 2023.”
