Melrose premises broken into TWICE in ONE night

Cash and alcohol has been stolen from a premises in Melrose, after it was broken into twice in the same night.

The first incident happened in Buccleuch Street around 11.45pm last night (Friday, August 30th), and the second followed at the same town centre property around 5.30am this morning (Saturday).

Police are appealing for the public's help to catch the suspect, who was wearing a dark blue jumper and dark coloured trousers. 

He is described as being a man in his 20s; white, around 5 feet 8 inches tall; of medium build, with short, blonde hair.

Constable Ruaridh Nairn said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact us.

“We also ask anyone who may have private CCTV of the area at the time to come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 1210 of 31 August, 2024. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
