Man, 62, charged after police called to report of 'knife' incident in Galashiels

A 62-year-old man's been charged in connection with an incident in Galashiels yesterday (Monday).

Police were called to a report of a man with a knife allegedly behaving in a threatening manner in the Larchbank Street area, around 2.40pm.

Officers say he's expected to appear in court at a later date, and a report detailing the circumstances will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.40pm on Monday (April 10th) police received a report of a man with a knife behaving in at threatening manner in the Larchbank Street area of Galashiels. 

“Police attended, searched the area and a short time later a 62-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. No-one was injured as a result of the incident.

“The 62-year old man is due to appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court at a later date and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
