'African tribe' set up new camp in Jedburgh woods following eviction
'We remain steadfast...'

The self-proclaimed King of an "African tribe" evicted from privately-owned land in Jedburgh remains defiant this afternoon (Tuesday) - after setting up a new camp just 20 feet away.
A sheriff on Friday issued a warrant for the removal of the so-called Kingdom of Kubala, which has been camping in the woodland for the past few weeks.
Local councillor Scott Hamilton, deputy leader of Scottish Borders Council, said that Sheriff Officers arrived at the camp at 8am today (Tuesday) to remove the group from the site.
But they left - along with police, who were there to assist - after moving their belongings to the opposite side of a damaged fence within the same woodland.

The group is made up of leader Kofi Offeh, 36, the self-proclaimed King Atehene, his wife Jean Gasho, 43, who calls herself Queen Nandi, and "handmaiden" Kaura Taylor, who calls herself Asnat.
They say they're reclaiming land stolen from their ancestors 400 years ago.
Mr Offeh told Greatest Hits Radio: "No-one has been able to move us, no-one will be able to move us.
"We live each day as it comes. Wherever the creator sends us we shall go, until then we remain steadfast."
Issuing the order at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Friday morning, Sheriff Peter Paterson said it would come into effect immediately.
The civil action was brought after the group ignored a previous eviction notice, which instructed them to leave their encampment by 5pm on Monday, September 8th.
Speaking at the campsite last week, Mr Offeh said: "The creator of the heavens and the Earth is the one with us.
"We are not afraid of whatever the court - the so-called court - has granted."
Asked if the group plans to move elsewhere, the self-proclaimed king said: "If the creator of the heavens and the Earth wants us to move from this land, he shall find us a place to go."
