Man, 38, taken to hospital following early-morning police drama in Kelso

A 38-year-old man’s been taken to hospital following an early-morning disturbance in Kelso.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has confirmed it dispatched its special operations team to the scene, in the town's Tweed Court area after the alarm was raised.

Police say the incident contained no wider risk to the public and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Locals report seeing forensic officers at the scene, at the new Scottish Borders Housing Association development.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a disturbance at a property on Tweed Court in Kelso around 4.15am on Thursday.

“A 38-year-old man has been taken to hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“The incident was contained and there was no risk to the wider public.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service added: “We received a call at 0625 hours today from Police Scotland to attend an incident in Tweed Court area of Kelso.

"We dispatched our special operations team and one ambulance to the scene. We transported one male patient to Borders General Hospital.”
