Poo-dunnit? 'Mindless vandals' blamed for loss of Kelso loos
Last updated 23rd Dec 2024
The public toilets in the centre of Kelso have been closed following another vandalism attack.
The Horsemarket loos were flooded and wet toilet roll thrown over the walls during the incident, which happened sometime on Sunday.
It follows repeated attacks on nearby toilets in the town's Shedden Park, which have already been forced to close while repair work is carried out - leaving the popular visitor destination without any public conveniences in the centre of town.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

In a post on Kelso Community Council's Facebook page this morning (Monday), a spokesperson said: "Both the Ladies and Gents toilets in Horsemarket are closed due to vandalism, which occurred sometime yesterday.
"All pans were stuffed with toilet roll and the floors flooded and now all toilets are blocked.
"Wet loo roll has been thrown all over the walls and further damage has also occurred.
"There are now NO public toilets available in Kelso due to mindless vandalism.
"If anyone saw anything please get in touch - all information will be treated in confidence."
