Three people have been taken to hospital following a two-car crash on a blind bend in Kelso.

A grey Ford Fiesta and a grey Audi Q2 were involved in a collision on the B6350, near its junction for Pinnaclehill Park, around 2.55pm yesterday (Saturday).

Emergency services, including an air ambulance from Glasgow, rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised.

A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman - the driver and passenger of the Fiesta - were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with "serious but not life-threatening injuries".

The driver of the Audi, a 48-year-old man, was also taken to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The road - which leads to Sprouston - was closed for more than five hours while police examined the scene and the wreckage was cleared.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Police Constable Drew Davidson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

“In particular, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then please get in touch.”

It's unclear what caused the crash, but locals have complained about the speed of traffic using the road, which has a 30mph limit.

Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2017 of Saturday, October 12th, 2024.
