A 17-year-old girl has been charged in connection with an incident which saw a Nazi swastika smeared across the entrance to a children's play park in Kelso.

The town's community council condemned the incident - which happened sometime between August 2nd and 3rd - at Shedden Park.

It was the latest in a series of reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

It happened just yards from the town's police station and prompted renewed calls for CCTV.

Police have confirmed a teenager has today (Friday) been charged.

A spokesperson said: "Relevant reports will be submitted. Many thanks to the local community for their assistance in this investigation."
