Firefighters battled through the night to extinguish a blaze at a farm on the edge of Jedburgh.

Multiple appliances were called out to Larkhall after the alarm was raised, shortly after 5pm yesterday (Tuesday).

But initial reports suggest all livestock on the 200-acre farm are accounted for.

The Dunion Road was closed for a time, from the town's Square, while emergency services made the scene safe.

And one crew remained to dampen down this morning (Wednesday).

“Operations Control mobilised six fire appliances and firefighters worked to extinguish a fire affecting a shed.

“There were no reported casualties. One fire appliance currently remains at the scene.”

“There were no injuries and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. It is not being treated as suspicious.”
