Man, 21, appears in court following 'major disturbance' in Jedburgh
A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged with two counts of threatening or abusive behaviour following a major disturbance in Jedburgh at the weekend.
Armed response police officers surrounded a property in the town's Grieve Avenue on Sunday, after being called out to deal with the incident which lasted several hours.
Several police vans and cars sealed off the residential street during the stand-off.
Adam Redpath, who gave an address in Jedburgh, appeared in private from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court this afternoon (Monday).
He made no plea to the charges and the case was continued for further examination.
Redpath was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court again next week.
