Man charged under Hunting with Dogs Act following police probe
A 30-year-old man has been charged under the Hunting with Dogs Act in connection with two wildlife offences alleged to have been committed in the Scottish Borders.
It follows an investigation into reports of incidents in the Pennymuir area on December 21st last year, and the Hawick area on January 14 this year.
Police say a report detailing the circumstances will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Constable Ali Whitby said: “We will continue to tackle wildlife crime and offences under the Hunting with Dogs legislation by working in partnership with a number of organisations.
"We would urge anyone with concerns about criminality involving wildlife to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
