Doorbell and dashcam appeal after parked car found with £5,500 worth of damage

Police are appealing to the public for help after thousands of pounds worth of damage was reportedly caused to a car parked in Hawick.

Officers say extensive enquiries have already been carried out into the incident, which happened in the town's Wellfield Road sometime between Monday and Wednesday, November 18th and 20th.

The cost of repair is estimated at £5,500.

Anyone with doorbell or dashcam footage of the area, which could help them find those responsible, is asked to contact them.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We are appealing for information after a parked car was damaged in Hawick.

"The incident happened between Monday, 18 November, and Wednesday, 20 November, when damage estimated at £5,500 was caused to the car on Wellfield Road.

"Extensive enquiries have been carried out and officers are now appealing for anyone who has information, including dash-cam or private CCTV footage, that could assist to get in touch.
