Man, 57, taken to hospital with 'serious injuries' following motorcycle crash

A 57-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after his motorbike was involved in a crash near the entrance to Pines Burn windfarm on the B6399 road between Hawick and Newcastleton.
Emergency services raced to the scene after the alarm was raised around midday on Sunday.
And the road was closed for around eight hours while an investigation was carried out.
The incident - involving a white and blue Suzuki GSXR motorcycle - is the latest in a series of serious and fatal smashes on our region's roads in recent weeks.
Police say enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Sergeant Michael Shillington said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please contact us.
“In addition, anyone who may have been driving in the area around this time and has relevant dash-cam footage is asked to get in touch.”
