Hawick leisure centre closed following 'medical emergency'

The Teviotdale Leisure Centre in Hawick has been forced to close due to what's being described as a "medical emergency".

Operator Live Borders made the announcement earlier this morning (Wednesday).

The facility, which includes a gym and swimming pool, will remain shut for the rest of today and tomorrow (Thursday).

A statement posted online read: Due to an unforeseen medical emergency, Teviotdale Leisure Centre is closed for the remainder of the day and tomorrow (14 & 15 May).

"We will confirm the reopening of the centre in due course.

"Please contact [email protected] for information regarding reopening."
