A 34-year-old man has admitted seizing a woman in Hawick by the body and striking her with a knife to her injury.

It follows an incident at an address in the town's Trinity Street on December the 16th last year.

James Jackson, from Kelso, also pled guilty to breaching a court order banning him from entering the town when he appeared from custody at Jedburgh Sheriff Court today (Monday).

Sentence has been deferred for background reports until October the 28th, when the case will recall at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

And Jackson has been remanded in custody meantime.
