Hawick man who sent woman picture of his private parts placed on Sex Offenders Register

A 37-year-old man who sent a woman a picture of his private parts has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
Richard Oliver, from Hawick, had been exchanging messages with a neighbour - described as a friend - when he sent her the unwanted image on July the 10th this year. Â
He admitted intentionally causing another person to look at a sexual image without their consent when he appeared at Jedburgh Sheriff Court today (Monday).
Sentence has been deferred until next month for background reports, when the length of time he will remain on the Sex Offenders Register will be decided.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man has admitted possessing indecent images of children, as well as taking or permitting to be taken or making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children.
Daniel Purvis, whose address was given as Northumberland, committed the offences at an address in Orchard Park, Kelso, between February 2nd, 2020 and February 8th, 2021.
He denies two further charges of threatening or abusive behaviour, as well as a third charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice, and sentence was deferred on the charges he pled guilty to until his trial on those matters on April 12th next year.
Purvis was placed on the Sex Offenders Register meantime.
