Police have confirmed they are probing a break-in at a High Street store in Hawick.

It's believed to have happened in the early hours of this (Monday) morning, between 3am and 4am.

Blood was reportedly left on the window of Global Antiques, following an apparent "smash and grab" raid.

A quantity of jewellery worth a four-figure sum was stolen.

Officers are looking to trace a man described as white, of slim build, who was wearing a military-style camouflage jumper and dark raincoat.
