Last updated 7th Aug 2023
Around £20,000 worth of gardening equipment has been stolen from a charity in Hawick.
A white transit van - with the Borders Green Team's logo on it - and a flatbed trailer were also taken in the raid on a compound in the town's Weensland Road.
It happened sometime between 3pm on Friday (August 4th) and the same time on Sunday (August 6th).
The Green Team's described the theft as "a huge blow" to the charity.
"The equipment that was stolen was required for our contract work," a spokesperson said. "Unfortunately, we have had to cancel support for (Monday).
"We have all worked hard to keep the Team going in tough economic conditions. We were finally getting somewhere. To have all of this put in jeopardy by someone's callous actions is difficult to comprehend."
