Police probe two break-ins in Borders

Police are investigating two break-ins in the Borders in less than a week.

A home in Hawick was targeted in the early hours of this (Monday) morning.

Photographs shared online appear to show a lock to one of the doors was damaged during the incident, which happened in the town's Kenilworth Avenue - opposite the shops in Burnfoot.

Meanwhile, cash and personal items were stolen during a break-in to a propoerty on Springwell Brae, Broughton, sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday last week.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Detective Constable Bruce Dodds said: “We also ask anyone who may have witnessed anything or has private CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”
