Jewellery, watches and computer equipment stolen during break-in at home in Hawick

Jewellery, watches and computer equipment have been stolen during a break-in at a home in Hawick.

The property, in the town's Mayfield Drive, was targeted sometime between 5.50pm and 6.20pm on Monday.

Police are appealing for information.

It's the second break-in reported in the Scottish Borders in three days.

Earlier, we reported that two e-bikes were stolen from an address in Peebles on Wednesday.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Loughlin, from Police Scotland, said: “Enquiries are continuing to establish more detail on this housebreaking and trace those responsible.

"Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the local area and gathering CCTV footage.

“If you were in the Mayfield Drive area between 5.50pm and 6.20pm on Monday and witnessed anything suspicious or out of the ordinary, please contact us.

"If you have any personal or dashcam footage please review it and let us know if it holds anything which may be relevant.

“Anyone with information that may assist our enquiries should contact 101 quoting reference number 2942 of December 9th. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
