A woman has been taken to Borders General Hospital by ambulance following a two-vehicle crash on the A7 in Galashiels.

The collision took place on Bristol Terrace - at the north entrance to town - around 10.45am this morning (Monday).

The road was closed for almost two hours while the scene was made safe, and local bus services had to be diverted.

But it has since reopened.

It comes just weeks after two cars were involved on a collision on the same stretch of road - close to the A7 car wash.
