Man, 47, 'seriously assaulted' in Galashiels
Police are appealing for information after a 47-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Galashiels at the weekend.
The incident happened in the town's Melrose Road - near the Melrose Gait roundabout - around 5pm on Saturday (July 5th).
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment
The suspect - another man - is described as being aged mid-to-late 30s, around 5ft 9in tall, of slim build, with short, brown hair.
He was wearing a grey top and dark trousers, and spoke with a Scottish accent.

Detective Constable Bruce Dodds, of Police Scotland, said: "Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed this to contact us.
"We also ask anyone who has dash-cam footage of the area at the time to come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 2450 of Saturday, July 5th, 2025.
