Emergency services swoop on Gala Hill after woman hurt in fall

A woman's been taken to hospital after being injured in a fall at a Borders beauty spot.
Police and mountain rescues teams rushed to the scene on Gala Hill, Galashiels, after the alarm was raised earlier today (Sunday).
They were supported by the Scottish Ambulance Service Incident Response Unit, as temperatures struggled to get above freezing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a woman injured after falling in the Stannis Burn area and called to assist.
"She was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment."
Meanwhile, Border Search and Rescue revealed it received its first call-out of the New Year overnight on Thursday.
Nineteen team members responded to reports of a missing person in the Duns area around 9.45pm.
They add: "The person was found by the police at about 1am (the following morning) outwith our search area, and passed to the Ambulance Service."
