Man appears in court charged with robbery following 'raid' on filling station in Galashiels
A 34-year-old man has appeared in court charged with robbery.
It follows a report of a raid on a filling station on Melrose Road in Galashiels on Saturday night, when cash was allegedly taken.
Wayne Todd has also been charged with an attempted robbery at a Chinese takeaway in nearby Marigold Bank earlier that evening, and two breaches of bail.
It comes just a fortnight after he last appeared in court in connection with an armed robbery at the Morrisons petrol station in Earlston on December 29th.
Cash was allegedly taken in that raid which, according to police, left a member of staff shaken.
On that occasion, Todd - who was released on bail - was also accused of another attempted robbery, the theft of a motor vehicle, and two counts of being in possession of a bladed weapon.
Todd, of No Fixed Abode, made no plea in relation to the latest charges during a private appearance at Jedburgh Sheriff Court this afternoon (Monday).
He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
He is due to appear back in court within the next eight days.
