A 31-year-old woman's appeared in court charged with assaulting another woman - to her severe injury and danger of life.

Jasmine Lauder is accused of carrying out the attack at her home in Galashiels' Beech Avenue on September the 11th last year.

It's alleged she repeatedly struck Catriona Aprile on the head with a piece of wood or similar item; struggled with her; placed her foot on her neck and stood on her neck, causing her breathing to be restricted; and made threats of violence.

Lauder pled not guilty at Selkirk Sheriff Court today (Thursday), and the case was continued to trial on December the 8th.

Passing sentence at Selkirk Sheriff Court, Sheriff Peter Paterson warned Morrison that she can't behave like that, whether provoked or not.
