Court hears police seized cocaine and cannabis during search of home in Galashiels
A court's been hearing how police seized thousands of pounds worth of illegal drugs during a search of a home in Galashiels.
Cocaine worth between £2,000 and £2,500 was found in a pink bin and four grip-seal bags in the bedroom of the property, while cannabis valued at between £1,500 and £2,000 was found in the kitchen.
Officers also seized two mobile phones, a set of scales and £750 in cash from the address in the town's Balnakiel Terrace on August the 26th, 2022.
Colin Shaw, who's 53 and lives at the property, admitted being concerned in the supply of the Class A and B drugs when he appeared at Selkirk Sheriff Court today (Thursday).
Sentence was deferred until next month for background reports, and he was released on bail meantime.

Meanwhile, a 47-year-old man from Galashiels who assaulted two pub-goers after staff refused to serve him has been fined £750 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40.
Selkirk Sheriff Court today heard William Macpherson - who also admitted possession of cocaine and resisting arrest - has no recollection of the incident, which took place at the Woodcutter pub in Langlee on April 15th last year.
